Intermediate Interior Designer

Novell Design Build is looking to fill a full time Intermediate level position and is looking for a candidate specifically with residential interior design experience.

We are looking for a  thoughtful and skilled individual to carry out the interior design development for a variety of new custom home builds & major home renovation projects.


  • Diploma or Degree in Interior Design from an accredited post secondary institution
  • Minimum of 3, but preferably 5, years of full time residential interior design experience
  • Residential material & product knowledge – what’s local to Vancouver
  • Drafting – AutoCAD or Vectorworks (Vectorworks 3D is an asset)
  • Sketch Up
  • InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
The candidate will perform the following tasks;
Develop material and product selections, creatively exploring the market for solutions to best fit the given project.
Produce specifications and drawing instructions accordingly.
Produce design drawing deliverables and instruction through concept, design development and construction stages.
Communicate with our vendors; sub-trades and suppliers, to evaluate the practicality and cost of all design work, at all stages of design.
Assist with budgeting, evaluate project cost estimations in reference to all finishes and fixtures.
Develop deliverable packages and participate in presenting work to clients (graphic/digital sample boards, 2D and 3D hand sketches, physical sample collection & display, floor plans and elevations)
Produce and administrate supportive materials, such as door/window schedules, letter correspondence, site directions, scopes of work, change orders, or similar.
Attend client meetings at all stages of design as required and prepare meeting minutes after every client site meeting.
Review millwork and other fabrication shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
Participate in monitoring design implementation onsite, pro-actively work to avoid delays by predicting and producing design information in a timely fashion that will be necessary for the construction activity onsite
Provide feedback to our internal team regarding design performance and progress of work completed. Report any design discrepancies as they arise.
Assist with the day to day business operations, and overall office organization and tidiness.
