Novell Design Build is growing!  For which we are looking for design and project management talent to join our residential design-build team.  There is no rush for us to fill these additional 2 positions, but we want to be on the lookout for, and snap up those special candidates – as and when they come along.

 

Architectural Technician

Residential Designer / Interior Designer

The successful candidate will be a team player that is organized, self motivated, detail oriented, diligent and willing to take a variety of projects to 100% completion with diligence and consistency.   We are looking for a high level of professionalism, a proactive attitude, strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize and multi task with common sense,  along with the necessary CAD skill set for this role.  An effective communicator, our ideal candidate would be looking for a place to grow their knowledge base and exposure within the residential design-build industry.

Requirements:

  • A technical Diploma or relevant University Degree
  • 2-5 years related experience minimum – open to all levels of experience into senior levels
  • Exceptional english written and oral communication skills
  • Recognized analytical and research skills
  • The ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask and prioritize
  • A strong work ethic with an attention to detail

Ideal Applicant will also have:

  • 3D CAD experience considered a strong asset
  • Vectorworks experience considered a strong asset
  • Specific experience with  residential construction in BC will be an asset
  • Specific experience with City of Vancouver residential bylaws considered a strong asset

Responsibilities will include:

  • Production of permit and construction drawings in Vectorworks
  • Problem solving the building science within
  • Assisting with the design and estimating of projects
  • Reviewing and reporting progress from site
  • Responding to requests for information through the build
  • Coordinating with authorities having jurisdiction

Project Coordinator / Project Manager

We are seeking a candidate that is passionate about driving projects forward to a successful completion.  We are looking for a detail oriented person who works pro-actively to complete tasks, problem solve, and act as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with industry experience.

The successful individual will be responsible for Project Administration, Estimating Coordination of Scope of Work and Daily Site Activities, alongside and under the guidance of our General Contractor and Design Director – a combination of responsibilities both onsite and in the office.

Requirements:

  • A technical Diploma or relevant University Degree
  • 2-5 years related experience minimum – open to all levels of experience including senior levels
  • Exceptional english written and oral communication skills
  • Residential construction knowledge
  • The ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask and prioritize
  • A strong work ethic with an attention to detail

Ideal Applicant will also have:

  • Specific experience with  residential construction in BC will be an asset
  • Specific experience with City of Vancouver residential bylaws considered a strong asset
  • Specific experience with estimating and proficiency with gantt charts and budgets will be a strong asset
  • Specific experience with customer service & client management will be an asset

Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare project schedules and budgets with guidance
  • Coordinate bid packages, estimating and cost accounting throughout the project
  • Administrate the purchasing of goods & services
  • Administrate the implementation of projects – coordinating vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and client groups
  • Navigate means and methods of implementing our projects alongside our General Contractor
  • Collaborate with our design-build team at every stage of the project alongside our Design Director
