Project Manager

Full Time Permanent

The Project Manager is responsible for managing residential construction projects: delivering them on time and on budget.  Client management, vendor management, and estimating are also core responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Construction Workflow – accountable to the schedule and budget
  • Client Management – first point of contact & chair of biweekly meetings
  • Estimating & Vendor Management – build estimates and negotiate vendor subcontracts

Required Experience:

  • A Technical Diploma or relevant University Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable job experience

Required Skillset:

  • Exceptional english written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Buildertrend Budgeting & Gantt Chart Scheduling – or similar project management software
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprint drawings, specifications & other construction documents
  • Proficient understanding of residential construction knowledge and BC Building Code
  • Strong organizational skills – able to work in a fast paced environment, multitask and prioritize
  • A strong work ethic with an attention to detail
  • Own vehicle and valid driver’s license – mix of site visits and office work required

Additional Skillset — considered an asset:

  • Specific experience in one of the construction trades
  • Local residential market experience
  • Customer Service experience

Renumeration:

  • $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year

Skilled General Labourer

Full Time or Part Time, Permanent

The successful candidate will be a skilled labourer with a proactive attitude, strong work ethic, common sense, along with the necessary general skill set for this role.  Our ideal candidate would be looking for a place to grow their knowledge base and exposure within the residential design-build industry.

Responsibilities include a wide variety of tasks onsite, including but not limited to: demolition by hand & tool, forming, framing, insulation, drywall, waterproofing, interior and exterior finishing, painting, clean up and deficiencies. 

Experience with framing or carpentry is an asset.

All work to be done under the direction of a Site Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years related experience minimum – open to all levels of experience into senior levels
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and vehicle
  • Construction labour abilities – whether from a specific trade perspective or a generalist perspective
  • Basic safety wear and weather-appropriate gear including steel toe boots, hard hat, gloves, rain suit; basic hand tools
  • A strong understanding of residential construction
  • A strong work ethic with attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction with English oral communication skills

Ideal Applicant will also have:

  • Specific experience with residential construction in BC / City of Vancouver
  • Experience with framing, carpentry and finishing

Finish Carpenter

Full Time or Part Time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Finish Carpenter with an appreciation for quality custom work. Cross-trade work is available upon interest. All work is to be done under the direction of a Site Supervisor, unless expertise as Lead Carpenter is shown. We are looking for someone who values quality work and long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and available vehicle
  • 5 years prior experience in finish carpentry
  • Necessary PPE, site safety equipment and basic work tool belt

Ideal Applicant will have experience in:

  • Custom or bespoke carpentry
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints is an asset. This includes Determining specifications and calculating requirements, adjusting work accordingly and executing work with precision.
  • Additional trade experience or certifications is an asset
  • Knowledge of the BC Building Code is an asset

Rough Framer, Former

Full Time or Part Time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Rough Framer with experience in major residential renovations. Cross-trade work is available upon interest. All work is to be done under the direction of a Site Supervisor unless expertise reading and executing drawings is shown. We are looking for someone who values quality work and long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and available vehicle
  • 5 years prior experience in framing
  • Necessary PPE, site safety equipment and basic work tool belt

Ideal Applicant will have experience in:

  • Framing residential homes, particularly major renovations and custom new build
  • Installing structural beams, building foundations, laying subflooring, erecting walls and/or roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Additional experience reading and interpreting blueprints is an asset. This includes Determining specifications and calculating requirements, adjusting work accordingly and executing work with precision.
  • Additional trade experience or certifications is an asset
  • Knowledge of the BC Building Code is an asset
